Nintendo's Peter Main speaks a few promising words on DVD, GBA, and Net Functionality.

At a press conference in New York today, Nintendo's Peter Main revealed a few new details regarding its next-generation console. While the Nintendo executive spoke broadly about the system, he did touch on important subjects including DVD functionality, Internet connectivity and the Game Boy Advance relationship.

In a speech at the GKM Toy and Interactive Entertainment Conference yesterday, Nintendo's Peter Main spoke regarding "Dolphin," Nintendo's next-generation console.

Here, the transcript of his Dolphin-related comments:

"On the console front, I can assure you that we're hard at work creating a Dolphin machine that will meet or exceed the performance of Playstation 2. But at the same time, we're very comfortable holding our cards close to the vest...Seeing what Sega's delivering...And listening to what Sony is promising."
