Jon's back this week, and we've got a lot of New Business to get to. James kicks-off with thoughts on The Count Lucanor, a 2D puzzle/survival horror game in the vein of Corpse Party. Rough around the edges, and a bit short, the game has some charms that make it a fun, if unsettling, play. The bulk of his update is on the recently-released Dragon Quest Builders for Switch. A month ago he came away from the demo impressed, and now he's losing sleep to this Minecraft-"inspired" spin-off. Jon bought yet another version of Rocket League, this time for Switch. Guess what? It's still great. Meanwhile, Greg has late-game thoughts on Celeste, specifically the B-Sides. They're really savage, and that's notable coming from "Hardcore Champion" Greg Leahy. Guillaume has been busy, bringing impressions of Gradius ReBirth (denying us the chance to include it as a potential RetroActive), the Weird Autumn content of Night in the Woods, and classic JRPG Suikoden II. Night in the Woods is great, at least.
After the break it's time for the first and second WiiWare RetroActives. First up, the crew talks You, Me, & the Cubes. This pointer-centric WiiWare puzzler has you frantically completing stages, and is built with an eccentric flair by "well-known industry veterans" and published by Nintendo. The crew then tackles Bonsai Barber. This pointer-centric WiiWare game has you frantically completing stages, and is built with an eccentric flair by "well-known industry veterans" and published by Nintendo. In all seriousness, there's some strange parallels between these games, but only one asks you cut a boat into a stalk of celery.
Next week we'll be talking Alien Crush Returns. You can post your thoughts in the talkback thread.
